Princess Merideth and her cadre of submissive guardian elves are thrown by the elder gods into reviving the source of power for two elven underhill cadre's in this the 5th novel of the series.

Synopsis:

Princess Merideth continues to transform all the men who have sex with her, be they human or Elf.  At the same time, she is transforming the dead and dying gardens of the Elves magic into once more viable centers of magic.

This ability has turned into a drug for her, and she is actively seeking out partners to transform unlike her previous experiences.  But as before she has no control over who will and who will not transform with her.

The shocking bit, is that some of her cadre are disappearing as sacrifices during the transformations. How will she satisfy her growing need yet save those around her?

Impression:

Laurel K. Hamilton, takes the reader on a romp through the fields of sexual awakening.  Again.  This time the rembrance of the first flowering of our sexuality and the need to find partners as quickly as we took breathes.  That we did not is more aa much a consequence of fate as it is of our own natures.

In Mistral's Kiss, Laurel K. Hamilton discards all attempts at combining two genre's to stick entirely with the erotic fantasy she does so convincingly.  For the series this is perhaps a good thing, as the murder mystery was falling further and further from the main bar of the series.  Writing to her clearly best forte, this book is one you will hate to put down, yet you wonder.... when will the murder mystery return?

If you are looking for a read that will arouse your sensual passions to the brink of genuine seduction, then I recommend Mistral's Kiss.
